From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within the city.
Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of characters who will branch out from the central cast to begin their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table features Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the events of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death started the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the party access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.

Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we discover that the combat party will be absent next week, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Seekers and Strategists groups.
Fans can anticipate learning which players will be where in the story’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
