The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.
The first season presents a diverse group of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with songs about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.
The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator commented earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.
That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.
"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."
She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.
"I've come across a few fans make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
